Genereation OnOctober Moments of Service

  • SIGNATURE EVENT: Make Your Mark Week (October 16-22)
  • Make a Difference Day (October 22)

"Make Your Mark on the World." Engage youth in selecting issues of interest in their community, and doing small acts or service projects that add up to making a big difference. Thanks to our partner, Hasbro Children's Fund, we will offer mini-grants to provide youth with the resources needed to carry out service projects. Deadline for grants is Monday, September 19, 2011.

generationOn Lessons & Resources

GenerationOn Make Your Mark Week is celebrated during the third week in October. This generationOn Signature Event inspires and mobilizes kids to use their energy, ingenuity and compassion to "make their mark on the world" through hands-on service about issues that matter most to them to help others in their local and global communities.

Here are resources and background information on the five issue areas for Make Your Mark Week: animals, environment, homelessness, hunger, and literacy. Two project ideas include Pennies for Puppies and Other Animals and Halloween Helpers.

Resources are free to access. (For a limited time, access Kids Care Club resources by using the User ID ‘Makeyourmark’ and the password ‘genon.’)
